Mr. de Bruin started ping-pong Design in 2000 (with Maarten). As creative director, he’s the guy setting the direction for our creatives. If you’re a client there’s a good chance you’ll meet him at the beginning of a project.
He’s a large man, much like ol’ John Henry, who challenged the steam hammer along the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. Although there is no relation there are several similarities, the most striking being that Mr. de Bruin also challenges technology. These days technology and ‘digital’ seem to go hand in hand, but don’t think that Mr. de Bruin is a technophobe. He’s just a big guy, who asks a lot of questions, but there’s a reason for it.
You see, after a minor misunderstanding between de Bruins parents and the late Khazarian royal family, de Bruin was raised by black bears along the river Volga. Only in his late teens, was he found by Gert Dumbar, who took him under his protection and taught him the basics of design. Alas, as we all know, wild animals may give the impression of being domesticated, but deep inside de Bruin was still a wild animal not intent on being in anybody’s cage.
Only at ping-pong has he found his true brethren. If you drop by, we’ll let you feed him...
